NO, you may NOT use this image on your YouTube video/fan page/Livejournal or whatever WITHOUT asking my permission first. I'm getting VERY grumpy about it. The only reason I'm even leaving it up at this point is to prove that yes, I did paint it.

My blood was racing, and I wished I could slow it, sensing that this must make everything so much more difficult--the thudding of my pulse in my veins. Surely he could hear it.
"The blush on your cheeks is lovely," he murmured. He gently freed his other hand. My hands fell limply into my lap. Softly he brushed my cheek, then held my face between his marble hands.
"Be very still," he whispered, as if I wasn't already frozen. Slowly, never moving his eyes from mine, he leaned toward me...

-From "Twilight" by Stephenie Meyer.

I was just waiting for you to read this book and do some fanart for it!!! Great job! I like Edward's skin. The paleness is right on. I do hope you do more fanart. And more Sunshine fanart!! :D

I'm on my third re-reading now of Twilight. I just adored it. Can you tell I fall in love with books?

Edward's skin was a personal challenge. She's described as being so pale she's almost an albino, but how to make her very pale (with a blush), but him even paler was a very hard thing to do. So I gave her a little more pinkness to her skin (being in sunlight helped), and I looked at pictures of marble statues in sunlight to get an idea of him. He's rather reflective, picking up the greens in the grass and the blue in the sky and the yellow sun, and a hint of purple for shade. And then the sparkles! AHHHH!

I still think he could be more beautiful, though. I watched Goblet of Fire on Sunday and thought that the guy who played Cedric would make a wonderful Edward.

oh, yes he would!! I stayed up till three something in the morning on a school night the first time I read Twilight. I simply refused to put it down. I decided chemistry class just wasn't as important as that book at that moment in time. *grins*

I've really been wanting to do some fanart for this book, but I've been a bit afraid, since no one else had really done any...and I would hate to complete something and it not be the caliber of what I see in my mind. Ha.

I'd love to see you do a close up of the Cullen family to feature their eyes.

I think you captured the part very well. I, too, enjoy vampire novels...my favorite(s) being The Vampire Diaries by LJ Smith. This is a wonderful piece and I can almost feel the tension in the air. I love it!

Maybe I will. :) Alice would be such a ball to draw... but Rosalie intimidates me.

Thanks! I'd highly recommend both of the books I just mentioned. I've read some of the Vampire Diaries, but they didn't really stick with me. Not like Sunshine or Twilight.

Or "The Silver Kiss"... another great vampire novel.

O.O!!!

I LOVE this. This scene is so totally my fav! And you pulled it off wonderfully! You did them both just like I imagine them. O.o I can't believe we both gave Bella long brown hair. That's so cool! By chance did you base your Bella off of Ms. Meyer's description of her from her website?

You have to email this to Stephenie Meyer. She would flip! I emailed her one of my fan art pieces and she was very nice. She's really an awesome person. So friendly and desiring to talk about her book. Ah, such a good book....

This is truly amazing (and droolworthy). I hope you do more :D

I did, actually, base her off both the book and her website description. Same with Edward. I looked at the actors she'd picked too, and used them for inspiration. For Bella, though, I just kept picturing young Jennifer Connelly in Labyrinth (although that might be my Labyrinth obsession creeping in, too!)

I did email her a link to it, but she's not replied (and it's been a couple of weeks now). She's probably very, very busy, and I don't want her to take any time away from writing more about Edward just to reply to me. I need more Edward stuff to read! :)

if she does have a spare moment though, that's cool. :)
