Sneaking in under the deadline...
This is for
's 50k contest. I'd been thinking about entering for awhile, but hadn't come up with any ideas. Then I look at the other contest entries and realized that it was sadly lacking in men!
Well, that just can't be. So I decided to reinterpret Ana's Red Queen ([link]) as a male, instead of a female. Maybe he's her twin brother, maybe he's just her king and they happen to enjoy wearing their hair the same way. Maybe it's a cultural thing.
In any case, meet Ybureth, the Red King.
Approximately 2 hours, Corel Painter IX
referenced (and color picked!) from the original image, flipped, and gender switched.
