My entry in Pixelbrush.net's current Event: Faces.
This is my somewhat artistically interpreted portrait of artist Cristine Griffin (aka ) as a Vampire Queen.
Please DO NOT use without permission--not just out of respect for me, but out of respect for Cris, who was kind enough to let me turn her into a vampire and paint her portrait.
Also, I just wanted to note, while it's not a direct copy of any existing jewelry, the necklace was heavily inspired by the work of Beth Church ~bchurch. I adore her work. You should definitely check out her gallery.
Also, some of the fabric textures in this image came from: [link]
I love it! The lighting on her face makes her look so sinister--and her brilliant green eyes are beautiful. I love her confident sneer and the pose in which she's holding the glass. Hope you place well in the contest! > w <

Melissa, you have absolutely done a wonderful piece! I would like to say thatis the best one I've seen so far. It is not only beautifully done, the textures are great, the colors are spectatular and the composition very appealing. Her eyes, though... they are so incredibly well done! I just love this piece, I enjoyed each step and I hope one day you do a skin tut.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
