This image has been a two month labor of love. I started it in December, got horribly frustrated with it after a week or so, and put it away for a bit. I worked on it off and on at the beginning of January, but finally pulled it out and finished it in the last few days.
Yes, he has a story. No, I'm not telling. Yet.
There is SO much detail in this image. I'll post close ups in my scraps later.
Male model is referenced from the wonderful [link]
The painting in the back was inspired by Reubens and 's Leda.
Most of the textures here are hand made, though I borrowed one or two from [link]
This is a record breaker. It tops out at around 90 layers in Painter. (hooray for new computers!)
*whistles* Man.. that is just fabulous! Love the whole attitude he has.. also something about the peacock feather contrasts in my head with the leather pants.. and I really like it!

I obviously love the figure, but the detail on that couch and that background is truly astonishing. The pattern of the rug (hell, even the fringes) and the painting on the wall. It's all so real. I could spend a while just studying all of the little details. Love it!!
Hence the title. I really, really wanted this to be a really sensual painting. I wanted the viewer to feel like they could reach out and actually touch the different things in it. So tons of texture went into everything.
His attitude is magnificent - so sure of his appeal, so at ease and, I'm willing to bet, dangerous, but quite inviting. With all the texture and detail, it seems as if one should be able to reach through one's screen and touch him, or sip the wine, or perhaps sample a grape, and then step back and wonder if that was a good idea. Perhaps the woman in the painting is a former lover of his; maybe he trapped her in pigment and ink on canvas...

Behold the definition of cruel irony: the words "lisp," "dyslexic," and "hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia," and the name "attention deficit hyperactivity disorder."
You succeeded. It is very sensual and tactile. (I swear I can feel the fabric of the couch underneath my hands just by looking at it.) And now I'm studying the carvings in the wood and the creases in his pants. Something new to stare at every time I look at it. Paintings like this make me wish I could paint, too. You should definitely be proud of it!

"Oooh, ooooooooo~ Salen, you look angry~!" Kari chirped, cheerfully.
Salen blinked, "It... It is nothing." He said, pointedly ignoring the huge dent in the cargo hold wall.
"Damn. I...damn," said Adrian, eyeing the dent made with solely a fist.
