I really, really, really liked PotC2: DMC.

Really. For many many reasons. So far, I've seen it three times, and am planning on going back for more.

For one thing, the characters fascinate me. The look of the film fascinates me. And so, when I was stuck with art block, and Rita suggested landscapes and pirates and turtles... well, this was the result. Tia Dalma is just too freaking cool NOT to paint. Everyone paints jack and will and barbossa, but tia... now there was a challenge.

I was not going for total realism or even trying to match the movie perfectly, and I was playing fast and loose with the lighting on this one, but I think I accomplished what I set out to do. Sadly, the turtles did not make it, but the iguana and alligator did.

Note for anyone else who wants to do Tia fanart... that dress, it's an eye killer.
